DMARC record generator.

Build the TXT record for your _dmarc host. The defaults are the playbook’s: p=none to start, reports to an address on the same domain.

Host_dmarcTypeTXTValuev=DMARC1; p=none

Then check the domain to confirm the record is live.

Common questions

Which DMARC policy should a new cold email domain use?

Start at p=none with reports going to an address on the same domain. Once two weeks of reports show almost all your mail passing SPF or DKIM aligned, with no unknown servers sending as you, move to p=quarantine.

Where does the record go?

A TXT record with the host _dmarc. Most DNS panels add your domain automatically, so type just _dmarc, not _dmarc.yourdomain.com.

Why should reports go to the same domain?

Receivers only send reports to an address on another domain if that domain publishes an authorisation record. An address on the same domain, or a DMARC reporting service that handles authorisation, avoids losing them.
